Annual Compliance for Telangana NGOs: Society Filings, Trust Accounts and Audits
The annual compliance calendar for NGOs in Telangana — income tax audit and returns, donation statements, Telangana society filings, Section 8 ROC filings, FCRA and CSR reporting.
NGOs in Telangana combine central income tax compliance with filings under their own legal form. This guide sets out a typical annual cycle. Due dates change, so confirm current deadlines.
Income Tax (All Forms)
- Audit report — one month before the return due date.
- ITR-7 — generally by 31 October.
- Accumulation form, where needed — before the return due date.
- Form 10BD and 10BE — generally by 31 May, for 80G-approved charities.
- TDS on salaries and payments, with quarterly returns.
Societies in Telangana
Societies registered under the Telangana Societies Registration Act, 2001 must file annual returns with the District Registrar, typically including the list of governing body members and audited accounts, within the time the Act prescribes after the annual general meeting. Changes in bye-laws or governing body are also notified.
Trusts
Trusts registered with the Sub-Registrar generally have no separate annual filing with a state authority, but must keep accounts and meet income tax requirements. Trusts that come within the state's endowments law have their own obligations.
Section 8 Companies
- Board meetings and an annual general meeting.
- AOC-4 and MGT-7 with the ROC.
- Director KYC and event-based filings.
Other Filings
- FCRA annual return (FC-4), if registered.
- CSR utilisation reports to corporate donors.
- NGO Darpan updates, for government grant recipients.
- Professional Tax and PF/ESI, if the NGO has employees.
